Acura’s Performance Manufacturing Center will soon start creating a small batch of TLX Type S PMC Editions after NSX’s production is complete. Acura is accepting reservations from prospective customers as production is about to begin. The Performance Manufacturing Center’s hand-building of the TLX Type S PMC Editions distinguishes them from standard Type S models.
As a result, Acura’s engineers handled the TLX with respect and consideration as they did the NSX. You ought to feel a little more exclusive now that you know that. A Type S PMC Edition can be distinguished primarily by its distinctive external colors. Only 300 will be produced, with 100 of each of the three PMC-exclusive colors based on the NSX’s exterior colors.
These PMC Editions, named after Acura’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio, are made in small numbers to excite the brand’s biggest fans. The 2023 Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition will only be produced in 300 pieces and will be the first PMC model to come in three high-end nano-pigment paint hues rather than just one. There will be 100 units each of Curva Red with an Ebony interior, 130R White with Red, and Long Beach Blue Pearl with Orchid in the production run.
The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the new TLX Type S PMC Edition isn’t set yet, but according to Acura, it will “be in the low-to-mid-$60K range.” The TLX Type S regular model would cost roughly ten grand less than the PMC Edition. Reservations for the Curva Red variant became available on Acura’s website on October 6 at 7 a.m. Eastern time. The 130R White version is on sale on November 9, and the Long Beach Blue TLX PMC Edition is on sale on December 8.
The NSX sports car was hand-built in the same factory where the PMC Edition was created, unlike other TLX models. Each example receives a unique dynamometer examination, paint inspection, and harsh road test to ensure the highest quality. Acura refers to the team members responsible for creating the automobile as “master technicians.” Additionally, they are packed before delivery to guarantee the quality of the distinctive paint.
Otherwise, you have a TSX Type S, a standard issue. Berlina Black roofs, door handles, quad exhaust outlets, gloss-black exterior badges, and other features will be standard on these PMC Editions. It sits on lightweight 20-inch copper-colored wheels with an NSX-inspired Y-spoke design, a gloss-finish lip spoiler, and a rear diffuser panel that matches. They have P255/35R20 summer performance tires from Pirelli P Zero, fitted by Acura.
Interior upgrades include enhanced floor mats, illuminated doorsills, carbon-fiber trim, and a plaque with a serial number on the center console. Sports seats with 16-way power adjustment are covered in leather with faux suede accents. The Acura TLX is a somewhat uncommon sight on highways that are usually crowded with SUVs and look-alike vehicles from other premium brands, making it too easy to overlook.
That means that any TLX is an excellent choice for people who like to do things differently, and the new, very limited TLX Type S PMC Edition is even better for them. The Type S PMC edition is a great way to stand out from the crowd because of its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, 355 horsepower, torque-vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD), special paint, Brembo brakes, and details.
