The model gets its name after Ettore Buggati’s eldest daughter, L’Ébé. Born in 1903, as the eldest child of Ettore and Barbara Bugatti, she had more insight into the rise of Bugatti than anyone else. She gave invaluable details about the brand’s history & her father in her book “The Story of Bugatti.”
Earlier this year, Bugatti unveiled Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé. This unique hand-crafted hyper sports car features details in the Art Deco style and garnishes its elements with a 24-karat gold finishing. It has only three handmade hyper sports cars, one Chiron and two Chiron Sport will bear a Macaron in this unique design.
Hence, the Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé, another Chiron model, it’s hard to name any unit within this lineup. Still, Chiron’s L’Ébé goes one step further with the comfort, luxurious design and sentimental value. Production of the Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé marks the end of an era the company has created.
One of the most precious materials in the world, gold fits perfectly for Bugatti. The 24-karat metal is used rarely in the crafting of automobiles since the finest 99.9% gold is soft, not easy to draw in a proper shape, and extremely valuable. Bugatti has launched a particular edition version of its Chiron supercar, also known as the Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé. The car features a range of exterior parts made from the coating of 24-karat gold.
For the first time, Bugatti rose to this challenge and applied a 24-karat gold finish to elements of the Chiron L’Ébé. Hence, it is also the first time the famous Bugatti emblem has ever sparkled in high-quality gold on the horseshoe grille. Eventually, a technique settled on nickel gets used as a foundation for the symbol. Its anti-corrosion properties allow the firm to apply a thin layer of gold, no more than four micrometres thick, before polishing.
The three gold-coloured lines extended from the front to the rear across the “Blue Royal” carbon bodywork, creating an incredible contrast. The “Blue Royal” visible carbon has a sporty and elegant look.
Hence, the process takes ten hours to get done with hands. The automakers announced the tie-up with Poellath GMBH & Co. KG developed the production process to make the “EB” logos, the grille trim, and the Macaron surround on the Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé out of 24-karat gold. The first time the brand’s logo was made out of real gold and applied to a grille, the Art Deco style of the 20s inspired the design.
It has an 8.0L or litre w16 or 16-cylinder engine with a power of 1500 ps or 1479 bhp / 1103 kw at 6700 RPM. However, this machine beast employs four turbochargers to generate a mighty 1500 HP or horsepower and 1600 Nm or 1180 lb-ft of torque at 2000 RPM. Bugatti claims that the model runs from zero to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds. It has a middle engine and a wheel drive layout.
In this article, we mentioned Bugatti’s Chiron L’Ébé & the places on the body covered or made with 24-karat gold. We will be back with another exciting luxury car-based article soon.
